Comprised of those people dedicated to the advancement and strengthening of the Wilds by any means, Duiran Council keeps its home within the Great Oak and the surrounding village of Eleusis. It is led by five Benandanti, elected representatives of the five Scions of Duiran: Roots, Trunk, Bark, Branches and Leaves who serve to guide the councilors of Duiran under the will of the Triad. To join Duiran is to forsake the civilized path of the cities and walk the game trails that criss-cross the wilds.

Though historically appointed directly by the Divine Triad, recent reforms now allow the Benandanti of Duiran to be elected by the council for terms which are reviewed every 10 years during an Eireachdus meeting.

The wilds are diverse and always in motion between Life and Death, and it is the purpose of the Council to ensure that this cycle remains in motion. Where there is too much Death, they bring Life and Hope; where there is life there is the hunt and survival; where there is too much Life, they bring Death and Renewal. Through this, they serve the Triad of Lady Lleis, Lord Haern and Lord Dhar.

Duiran Council reserves the right to punish those who work to unbalance the Rhythm of the Wilds. To those who bring wanton destruction in their wake and to those who think they can trample the will of the Wilds, be wary.

^ Oh please.

Interesting Oddities

  • Until the past few decades when democratic reforms were instituted, Duiran's leadership had been selected by the Triad. This leadership was unchallengable by any mortal in the time between Eireachdus meetings.
    • While the possibility for elections exists, Duiran's Benandanti are still chosen via the Eireachdus (divine mandate).
      • This is no longer the case. While Eireachdus meetings are still held, no leadership decisions are made at them any longer.
  • Until the old war system was disabled, Duiran's troops were unique in that they did not cost the council any upkeep, as soldiers of each city did, due to their ability to sustain themselves off the land they inhabited, but were also unable to capture 'non-natural' terrain and cities.
  • Certain prominent members of Duiran once tried to create RP for the council that didn't suck decided it would be fun to PEEKAY Enorian. Lesson learned. Don't interfere with Divine Mandate.
  • They got away with not paying for guards for AGES until Galleus saw the fail and tried to fix it. Duiran still only pays for a fraction of its guards, doesn't produce the right amount of metal commodities and has a broken keymaker. This is all proof that the Council is epic fail.
    • This has all been fixed in recent months with revamps of the "council's" other amenities and mechanics, simultaneously managing to bring Duiran in line with every other city and to stifle what unique quirks remained of the RP around a forestal council.
  • Haern has recently been attempting to revive the flagging council with varying levels of success. His most recent move, a mandate to remove 90% of enemy statuses and use only bounties for punishment, instead of enemying for wrong turns into the Heartwood, has had debatable success. On the one hand, it's attracting PKers to join the city. On the other, it's also turned those few PKers who actually listen to CT into a safety net for beseiged forestals every few minutes. Methinks the lesson is lost.

Duiran's Leader

Further perpetuating the terrible stigma that forestals must suffer, Relandroc, the Keeper of the Wilds, leader of Duiran, engages in terrible mudsex, the vile likes of which have not been seen since Tito and his hydrapenis. He was recently discovered boning a pair of newbies who turned out to be his son and daughter. To quote the man himself:

Guardian of Severity, Relandroc Forestwalker, the White Dragon says, "Fuck her, son."
Guardian of Severity, Relandroc Forestwalker, the White Dragon says, "As a bear."

Oh-kaaay, time to back away.
