Iosyne

The Divine Muse is the patron of artists and writers, who often hear Her soft whisperings of inspiration in their time of need. Though She is most closely associated with authors, performers and artisans, Iosyne favors creators and thinkers of all varieties, delighting in the myriad capabilities of the mortal mind, and encouraging the mortal capacity to bring ideas to manifestation. She is known as a gentle spirit, but rather than this trait being due to any aversion to war or violence, it is more accurately reasoned as a product of Her simple disinterest in such things beyond their dramatic value. Beyond all else, She adores the limitless possibilities of experience, whether in sorrow or joy, finding the beauty and intricacy of the ever-changing tapestry of life.

The appearance of Iosyne to mortal perceptions is rarely the same twice, as Her moods and interests vary from day to day, along with Her chosen style. A feather is the most common symbol of Her realm, both as a quill for composition, and a representation of the boundless possibilities of creation and thought.

Appearance

The entrancing form of Iosyne, the Muse is here, wrapped in veils of shimmering essence.

She is an Immortal and is a slender female figure with unblemished hands and sandal-clad feet. Her long silken tresses of golden-brown hair have been partially arranged with small combs and hairpins, while most of it has been left to cascade down Her back to Her waist. A pair of thin, rosy lips and a narrow nose makes Her features more humanoid even though Her pale skin is almost translucent in its quality. Her vivid violet eyes are framed by pale lashes and accentuated by Her high cheekbones and thin brows. She has wrapped Her body in elegant white robes, which are held together by several multicolored sashes. She is wearing:

a simple, but elegant white robe

delicate sandals of engraved ivory

Shrine Descriptions

Major Shrine Descriptions

An orb of metal rods rest on top of a slender, silver pedestal.

The pedestal is made of an intricate pattern of three-sided metal rods, holding up a triangular plate. An orb made of shimmering silver rods rests on top of it. The many rods wind around one another to form the sides of the orb and some of the ends shoot out as sharp spikes. Inside the orb, a single feather swirls around, stirred by the wind streaming through the many holes between the sharp thorns.

Minor Shrine Descriptions

A graceful, slender pedestal stands here, with a small feather resting on top as a tribute to Iosyne, the Muse.

An intricate weave of three-sided metal rods twine around the central pole holding up a triangular plate. Though the weave appears crooked and irregular as it twists around its central point, a closer inspection reveals a complex symmetry. A large feather, carved in great detail of the same shiny metal as rest of the pedestal, rests on top of the plate, looking as though it would fly away at the slightest gust of wind.
